Hello. Good morning
Finally, today is my day to travel to Korea. :) So yesterday, I bought snacks and souvenirs for my family before going back to Korea!
I will introduce you to the cheapest supermarket in Malaysia, and I would like to introduce you to the list of must-buy gatseongbi. Shall we get started?
1. LEXUS
Lexus is like the name of an SUV, but it's a national snack that represents Malaysia. It is a snack that is sold cheaply not only in vending machines but also in large supermarkets. And the snack called LEXUS is perfect for housewarming gifts. It's one of Malaysia's favorite snacks, so make sure to buy one before you go back to your country.
2. Old Town White Coffee
The origin of Old Town White coffee is Ipoh, where Old Town White coffee started and spread throughout Malaysia. And now they sell coffee and food in the form of a restaurant, and it is also a coffee that Malaysian people really like. And all the food sold here is good, and I, a Korean, sometimes go and buy food. Among the coffees sold here, I definitely recommend Klasik or coffee with caramel or sugar cane if you want to have some sweet :) Make sure to buy Old Town White Coffee~! Friends and family will definitely like it :)
3. BOH Tea
Malaysia has many highlands and mountains like Korea, and there are many highlands with a cool climate called Highland, and tea is usually grown there. And Cameron Highland is really famous for tea, especially a tea company called BOH, which grows many kinds of tea, including green tea and black tea, in Cameron Highland. And in this country, overseas Chinese dominate the economy, and the Chinese like tea, so BOH tea is also a pride of Malaysian Chinese. I recommend you to drink tea at Cameron Highland.
4. MILO
MILO is sold a lot in Southeast Asian stores in Korea. Actually, MILO's origin is Malaysia. As you can see, there are so many kinds of MILO cocoa dairy products. It's Malaysia's representative national chocolate tea. It's tremendously better than Jetty and Nesquik. If you buy this, your friends and family will really like it!
5. Kaya Jam
The last product I want to introduce is Kaya jam. Kaya jam is a jam from Pandan Leave. It's really good if I put eggs on the toast and eat it with jam. If you really like bread, it's going to be the taste that you can't help but fall in love with! And you probably saw the Singapore brand, Ya Kun Kaya Toast If you stop by there, you'll see a lot of line-up in the morning, with grilled toast with kaya jam, half-boiled eggs, and soy sauce. Ya Kun Kaya Toast is a Singapore brand, but the origin of Kaya Jam and Kaya Toast are Malaysia. So make sure to buy Kaya jam! :)
6. Supermarkets in Malaysia (AEON)
There are many brands in Malaysian supermarkets, but I recommend AEON. AEON is a Japanese brand, so there are relatively many Japanese products, but it is quite cheaper and there are more types than Jaya Grocery or Village Grocery, a large supermarket in Malaysia. AEON is known as the cheapest supermarket in Malaysia, so enjoy and buy a lot of cost-effective Malaysian products from AEON ^^
