Hello.

This is your financial manager Stephen Son. Today, what we are gonna look into is SGX and the reason why you must invest in Singapore while you work and live in Malaysia.

1. Free from geographical risk

As mentioned above, Singapore is free from geographical risk. What I have felt during 7 years of stay in Southeast Asia (Malaysia), there are no serious issues like uprisings, or wars (Except the war in Myanmar). The conflict is as not risky as the Taiwan-China conflict or South Korean - North Korea. Hence, Singapore is located in a stable region. And Singapore is located where the Malacca Straits passes through. Therefore, Singapore is the hub of logistics and finance.

The location of Singapore is so blessed. To trade with Asian countries such as Korea, Japan, and China, many ships should pass through the Malacca straits. Therefore, Singapore can't help developing its logistic business naturally.

2. Strength SGD

USD has lost 19% against SGD for about 10 years. Singapore dollars are that strong. Hence, if you enjoy the benefit of the exchange rate by investing in overseas markets, investing in SGX is probably one option you can take.

3. Economical & Political Stability

Singapore was ranked 5th in Transparency International CPI. This makes Singapore's political situation clean and stable and Singapore also took Asia's financial hub from Hong Kong. There are some reasons why Singapore took Asia's financial hub from Hong Kong.

Initial Resilience: Surprisingly, the HSI initially held up somewhat well despite the protests.

Escalation and Impact: However, as the protests became more violent in mid-2019, investors grew worried about the Hong Kong economy. This caused the HSI to tumble.

Losses: Reports indicate the HSI fell nearly eight percent during the height of the unrest.
Overall, the social unrest created uncertainty and risk, leading investors to pull back from the market, which drove the HSI down.

4. Share my profit

I started investing in SGX(Singapore Exchange Market) during pandemic era. And now, it's been almost 3 years.

But I will show you the profit margin from this year Jan to this week.
